Why Your Time and Help Makes a Difference

With limited resources and a growing number of animals in need, we rely heavily on volunteers to support our daily operations and programmes. From shelter care to community outreach and neutering efforts, your help allows us to do more, reach further, and create lasting impact for animals and the community.

Where Your Support Is Needed

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds to support different areas of our work. Whether you can help on the ground, contribute your skills, or support outreach efforts, every role plays a part in improving the lives of animals.

Shelter Support

Help care for animals and maintain a clean and safe environment

  • Providing transportation for food collection and delivery of animals to foster family and adopters.
  • Animal grooming.
  • Walking animals.

Maintenance and Operations

Support repairs, cleaning, and general upkeep of the shelter

  • Housekeeping – cleaning animal cages/kennels and washing utensils/equipments and removing waste materials.
  • Outdoor maintenance – gardening (cutting grass and pruning trees) and cleaning drains.
  • Building maintenance – building repair and painting works.

Publicity & Education

Assist with content, events, and spreading awareness

  • Photographers taking pictures of animals for adoption and fundraising.
  • Writers for educational material, press releases and Facebook stories.
  • Speakers for giving educational talks.
  • Membership recruitment.
  • Event organizers – fundraising and animal welfare awareness roadshow.
  • Graphic designer to design posters for events and educational material.

Skilled Volunteers

Contribute professional skills such as veterinary care or legal support

  • Provide advice on legal matters such as animal abuse/cruelty cases.
  • General treatments for shelter animals.
  • Sterilization of dogs and cats.
  • General surgery.

Rescue Support

Help assist rescue efforts and transport animals safely

  • Assist SPCA KK rescuers to help in rescuing animals.
  • To help in transporting the rescued animals to vet clinics, shelters, fosters, and adopters.
